My experience as an intern at College Works Painting

I worked at College Works Painting as an intern (more than a year)

As an intern I gained a undeniably useful real-world exposure during college whereas other students are confined to normal, part-time, boring, on-campus jobs. The challenges of the internship are indeed difficult to overcome, but they are what have allowed me to grow professionally in a way I could not have if I stuck to my normal part-time job making sandwiches at Subway. Through interaction with real clients and employees I developed excellent communication, sales, and management skills. These skills are definitely transferable to my future profession as a doctor, where I will also have real clients and employees, and they are also transferable to any profession that requires interaction with people and management responsibilities. The mentors at College Works do an excellent job at training and coaching the interns as well as assisting interns should they have any complications. Working for this company has allowed me to tremendously improve my resume, become extremely more professionally confident and competent, as well as develop new friendships with other like-minded interns.

The only real cons about working for College Works was that it required me to balance my time diligently and that it required quite a bit of travel.
