I have been working at Commission Junction full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Collaborative team environment. Frequent team building and networking events. Bagel Fridays.

    Cons

CJ was a great place to get your foot in the door in terms of online advertising and marketing, but it is not a place to build a longterm career. There is way too much bureaucracy. They are behind the times with how a modern online company should work. For example, you are never allowed to work from home. How is this possible in this day and age? Also, you accrue 3 hours of "time off" for every paycheck. This means that if you are to take 1 day off (8 hours) you would need to work for 6 weeks. Talk about blast from the past! The worst, bare-bones benefits package I've ever had.
Working in the SF office is really tough because CJ can't compete with these other online and tech companies that provide unlimited vacation, pay for your cell phone, or even provide daily lunches. Because at CJ you will get a pat on the back once a year for your loyalty. Getting promoted will take 3+ years, which is also insane.
If you are in the SB area, then it's prob not as bad considering there aren't a lot of options down there. However for living in SF, it is like working back in corporate world 1990. Not for creative or overly ambitious types. This is the place for a mundane working environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The CEO is a JOKE. No one takes her seriously. Invest in culture - it will do you some good.
