I have been working at Community Living Newmarket/Aurora District part-time

    Pros

The lady who hired me was very nice, Janet. She remained very nice, even after I left.

    Cons

    VERY unorganized.
    Pay is very bad.
    Training is a joke.
The Full Time staff take place of the manager, because the manager doesn't do anything. I met him once in a year of being there, and he did nothing productive the one and only time I ever met him. Therefore, the full time staff nit pick, submit complaints, and deem part-time staff unknowledgable and uneducated in order to look "proactive" to HR.
They treat their individuals poorly - force them to do things they don't want to do, treat them like children.
If you have any comments and/or suggestions regarding how they treat their individuals or you try and advocate for them in any way, you will be punished for them. You are hired as a part-time staff, and your job is to show up and keep your mouth shut.
I was promised a pay raise in writing after probationary period ended - never received it. Made numerous complaints to HR, who said they would look into it, and never heard back from them.
I was told I could work as many hours as I wanted at various locations - was refused each time I requested to be trained at other locations.
Health and safety is ignored completley.
IT structure is very outdated, probably relating to the lack of organization.
Many of the managers are very rude.
Staff tell individuals we support about personal and professional lives of their staff.
All in all, I worked here for a year and have a very bitter taste in my mouth after leaving this association. I felt incredibly unappreciated and was promised a lot that they failed to provide.
