I have been working at CompuCom full-time (more than 3 years)

The Portfolio of products and services at CompuCom are a great concept. Gartner even rated them highly because of their mix of products coupled with a great services offering.

Many great co-workers and a lot of support to further your education. Their benefits are on par with most companies of their size.

Seperated silos of business units are still apparent. Hardware sales personnel do not always work efficiently with service sales counterparts.

Some middle management personnel have been there so long, they do not take to new ideas very well. You can't keep doing things the way you did 10 years, especially in an industry that is all about constant change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at thinning out the middle. There are far too many folks in the middle that impede progress and add a lot of waste in time and money.

It's ok to think things though, but when you need to execute, you can't get slowed down by people unwilling to adapt or who are comfortable and do not want to make waves. Too many people working harder on keeping the status quo than to further the company.
