Extremely unstable company to work for. Where's the zero rating?

    Pros

They do a great job at providing training materials and access to most major certifications. The only problem is when field employees train the time is not looked on favorably by those living off of spreadsheet reporting dynamics.

    Cons

Where to start? Working for CompuCom means never having job security. When the company signs on new business they massively hire until the contracts change at which time massive layoffs occur. There is no such thing as stable long term employment with CompuCom. No opportunities for advancement or wage increases. CompuCom is what one would term a complete "spreadsheet" driven company. Very little reliance on human capital with a ridiculous reliance on reporting every movement and action by employees with all decisions being made several levels above any interaction with actual technicians. Lastly, CompuCom has one of the lowest pay scales among leading IT companies in the nation and wage increases are rare. As an employee of CompuCom you are nothing but an employee number on one of a thousand spreadsheet reports upper management runs on an hourly basis to criticize every movement field technicians make. The reporting standards contradict each other meaning there is no chance to actually satisfy the standards one is given. There is absolutely zero focus on end user satisfaction vs. profit margins for upper management or investment firms.

    Advice to Management

Throw away the spreadsheets and get to know your employees in real terms. Field technicians are treated just about as bad as one could imagine. The micro-micro nit picking of every aspect & movement of technicians is insane and counterproductive to the point of having any job focus by your field technicians. Company moral could not be any lower. There is no possibility of having pride in one's job knowing every employee is a moment's notice away from the unemployment line on a consistent basis. Why is it every time there are major cuts in staff the technicians who are face to face with customers get cut so deeply to the point of struggling with customer satisfaction and service level agreements?
