I have been working at Condé Nast full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Exposed to leading industry freelancers and talent. Extremely easy to contribute and pitch to the growing web team. Big name magazines are huge resume builders.

    Cons

Print is very rigid and many employees are unnecessarily mean and nasty vs. being stern and revered. There's a strong sense of entitlement from a lot of the younger employees. No team building. Smaller salaries than competitors and little room to grow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More training is needed. People are thrown into a "make or break" environment with very little guidance. Every magazine works differential, so regardless of your previous publishing experience you can't be expected to know everything.
