I have been working at Contemporaries, Inc.

    Pros

Metro accessible, downtown Silver Spring, MD.

    Cons

This review is written about Contemporaries, Inc. in downtown Silver Spring, MD. They told me that I would be in the office for two hours to test and interview, and advised that I would be tested on MS Word, Excel and typing. Once testing was completed, moments later, there was a series of written tests that they never told me about. Otherwise, I would have prepared myself. When I told them I had to be at my job on my current assignment by a certain time, they did not ask if I would like to return another day to complete the written portion. Not to mention that while the office staff are friendly on the surface, they are unprofessional. I overheard the staff engaging in a few small-talk conversations about clients, etc., that was not in favor of the parties being discussed. I generally don't test very well, but that doesn't have anything to do with my intellect- I simply don't test well- not that I don't know the material. After my results, I got funny stares from the staff, which I think is quite rude, and I thought, if they openly talk about their clients and others around potential employees, what makes me different? This company is not at all what I had invisioned. The staff left such a bad taste in my mouth that I immediately threw away the employee handbook and other literature that was given me as soon as I arrived home, and I will not be calling to check-in for assignments. This is not fabricated. This is not the company you would want to accept an assignment from.
