I worked at Continental Carbonic full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Most runs are out and back. No back hauls after delivery. Trucks and trailers are nice...with the exception of tankers.

    Cons

Cameras in the truck with audio. Made to work without being properly paid for labor and skill. If you are a driver you will be required to move multiple trucks and trailers in and out of dock doors without pay. If you are ever paid on the clock your rate is 9.00 per hour. That will basically never happen. Detention is a complete joke. NEVER will happen. The management team is only motivated by their bonuses and have absolutely no concern for the drivers situation. You will slip seat with other drivers and often wait many hours for a tractor...or trailer......or both. The company speed limit is 63 mph. The company has lost most of it's experienced drivers due to complete and utter disrespect in word and deed. Hiring requirements has in two years went from 2 years experience.......to 1 year experience.....to 6 months experience. There are compelling reasons for this situation. The longer you remain a driver for Continental the more emboldened they become in the abuse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continental has transitioned to the place where they are no longer able to replace the drivers that are leaving. The bleed off will certainly continue, leaving only new drivers that will quickly learn that leaving is the only manageable option. A company with no honor has no future.
