    I have been working at CorVel full-time (less than an year)


    The camaraderie between co-workers, great outside teaching and learning opportunities with in house availability of CEU's, and great opportunity to network with outside vendors.


    Poor disinterested management with lack of communication regarding loss of accounts, inability to affect change at the local level, poor in-house recruiting or incentives, very poor company match for retirement accounts, and major increase in health care premuims/co-pays. No year to year raises despite meeting high QA, and no separation package.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't lay off ALL your experienced staff and shuffle those that are left when accounts come and go, that is the insurance business. Leadership at the local level needs to be able to do what is necessary to retain high quality and experienced staff with incentives ( telecommute opportunities, raises and bonuses, remote training and education opportunities, etc ) as needed. Leadership needs to be engaged and interested in what their staff have to say, are doing and need to improve job performance. Improving morale with better communication, team building and incentives on an ongoing basis. Improve performance reviews to at least quarterly, with performance tied to bonuses/raises. You are an insurance company, health care should not take such a huge chunk of my pay check! the company makes millions yet a meager amount is matched in your 401K ( $300 for 2014). GIVE LOCAL MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY TO MAKE DECISIONS! When the building flooded, it took hours for management to decide to close the office even after the building manager told them there was no electricity, main frames were down and it was not safe to be in the building )
