    I worked at County of San Joaquin part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    SJC can be a great place to learn and grow as an individual because there is so much you can do to help the community, which really needs it.

    Cons

    Many of the population that works for SJC has worked there for eons and does not feel the need to work quickly to get things done, collaborate, or innovate, depending on what branch you work in, which is discouraging to new and younger talent. This review is based on a part time position without benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try to get some fresher approaches and more innovation through at least a couple of merit based programs or jobs. If you do not, you will constantly continue to drag down the talent pool of your own organization because too many people are 'entitled' to their job and unwilling to try new things or welcome new people. Also, the inability to hire full time employees for the talent that does want to come in means that you will continuously lose great employee potential as they leave to receive benefits and more satisfactory pay year round at other companies where hard work pays off more quickly.
