    Pros

A good place to gain a strong foundation in the fundamentals of the television spot sales industry. Anywhere else you go in this industry you are likely to meet people who came out of this company. It is a the subsidiary of privately owned company, and as such puts a great deal of value into employee benefits, and job security is sound. The sales training program is recognized as the gold standard within the industry. If you are planning a career in television sales this is a good place to get your start.

    Cons

Private companies, like this one, can only count on the capital that they create through their own industry. That means that employee compensation, particularly for low level employees, is generally tempered by other financial concerns. If you are not on a sales track in your career, opportunity for advancement withing the company is severely limited. Work stations are also very cramped.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a lot of lip service payed to employee involvement in innovation within the company, but the tread where the rubber meets the road is inconsistent at best. When you say that you are opening up new opportunities for experienced employees, and then shut them down before they've even had an opportunity to compete, that is not a great way to get them on board. If you say you are looking at internal candidates, you ought to give them a fighting chance. The company has a lot of good people at all levels, but some of the talent is being undervalued.
