    I have been working at CoxHealth full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    If you are applying to cox there are some good aspects. To start off they are a growing company, with this new tower that they are building there will be opportunities to move around in the operation. They do offer full-time employees insurance, retirement, and time off. The cafeteria is tolerable and even sometimes good! They offer somewhat flexible hours as well.

    Cons

    I've been for the company long enough to understand that I'm nothing more than a number. I gave up my identity the day I started working there.

    To Start off, they have changed so many policies since I've started at Cox that are meant to weed out the people who have been there the longest, and therefore make the most money, in attempts to save money.

    In addition to these new policies they cut staff to absolutely bare minimum, sometimes less, to save money. Patient care is only third to making money and paying administrations salaries.

     While you may be scheduled for 36 hours, you might only end up with 32 or less by the end of the week depending on weather they force you to stay home. If you are forced to stay home, you have to use the time that you save up for vacation or sick leave to make up your wages. Heaven forbid you need to use your sick bank time either. You're not able to use that time unless you fill out FMLA (even if it is only 1 day), and then they decide on your eligibility, so you might not even be able to use the time you have saved for 3 years.

    The wages that they offer are to say the least embarrassing. As a full time employee who has direct patient care, I made far less that $25,000 last year. Most of this is due to the absences that they mandatorily put their staff on. Meanwhile they raise the cost of benefits, and lower the coverage. It is almost literally impossible to afford to work here if you are not in administration.

    This treatment is across the board for Nursing Assistants, Nurses, Respiratory therapist, or anyone else doing direct patient care. Overall I'll say when someone ask me where I work, I have to say, I'm embarrassed to say Cox Health.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Employees are people not numbers, give the promised amount of hours, $10.60 base pay for someone with nearly 10 years of experience is NOT enough, and fix your FMLA system ITS BROKEN.
