I have been working at Credit Karma full-time (more than an year)

Credit Karma is a carefully built company since employee #1. There is a perception in the outside world that it's just another "truly free credit score" service (you've seen the commercials?), but the scope of the business is now much bigger than its original claim to fame, and the trajectory is super growth. That's no accident -- management is extremely smart, tactful, professional, and focused on execution.

There are rare, exceptional engineers here who could work _anywhere_ and choose to stay for the people and the challenge. This is the kind of place that will survive economic downturns and then grow another order of magnitude because of its focus on building a useful, thoughtful product at the largest scale possible. This vision comes from the top.

As for day-to-day perks, there are snacks, espresso machines, arcade games, board game nights, movie nights, bocce ball and ping pong tournaments, catered company happy hours, charity events, exercise events, team lunches, and a nice office in a convenient location.

Growing pains. New hires coming in without perspective on the velocity of growth might find their position bewildering. Everyone is involved, figuring things out, adapting to new processes and learning new technologies. There's a bit of "think or swim" to the culture that would be expected at a snowballing tech company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain existing leadership as long as possible. If someone has to leave, replace them with care.

    Go public.

    Do the hackathon.
