    I have been working at D&Y full-time

    Pros

    Colleagues are typically pretty friendly.
    Managers want to do more to help, even though C-level management is an obstacle.
    Monthly meetings serve food.
    Health benefits are great.
    Holiday parties are fun.

    Cons

    1) This company is severely outdated.... Training, marketing efforts, mindsets of C-Level Management. They talk a lot about wanting to improve, but couldn't manage to hold on to the one person in the company that was on a mission to bring us to the current century.
    2) Lots of micro-management, but still very little leadership.
    3) Horrible software infrastructure. It takes far too long to complete one task within the given database tools.
    4) Hardly any training whatsoever.
    5) Most managers work hard to implement positive changes for the recruiters, but are shut down.
    6) Very little consideration for work-life balance. Come in early, stay late, don't be late the next day no matter what time you left the office. Don't get sick either.
    7) Lots of talk about investing in new property. Zero talk about investing in training for the employees.
    8) You are required to pay up front and be reimbursed for any company-mandated travel. Average expense is well over $200 at any given time. Be prepared to have that money handy.
    9) Hardware (computers and printers) are outdated and in frequent need of repair.
    10) High turnover rate, with the often-given excuse, "That's the nature of the business."
    11) Very little room for growth as a recruiter or account executive. Absolutely no talk of opportunities for advancement.

    Pretty much, there are lots of priorities that are not in order.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take care of your employees, and they will take care of you. Your losing employees left and right to competitors because you think you're helping your "bottom line."
    Catch up with the competition in marketing and technology. Your competitors are light-years ahead of you.
