    I worked at DB&A full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    It is a practicle MBA. You get out of it what you put in. At a certain point you either understand operations and can impact/influence others or you cannot.

    Opportunities given to those without the most prolific background or experience in management. Food Service Management, Rental Car Management, and Military Leadership.

    Travel points/miles, etc.

    Many great friends made along the way.

    Cons

    As long as the current group of 'Chiefs' are in their power role you will not advance past a Project Manager role. NOONE is or ever will be as good at their job as the 'Chief's' are even though every single one of them came through the company exactly the way you will.
    Yes, if they begin to get overworked and the company is growing who ever is riding the company wave of results at the time will get a shot at promotion but as soon as the $$ dries up, they will find their way to knock you back down. See the truth is there is only so much bonus pool around and the chiefs need every dime they can to make their martgage/car payment/pay for the girlfriend on the side,etc. They are survivalists and have grown closer as a group through the supposed internal culture change.
    The CEO is constantly saying the 'chiefs' are the #1 problem with growth but he does not have the sack to change them. Most clients beg you to keep the 'chiefs' away from the job site as they do not know what they are talking about and just styme the progress being made by the PM and associates.

    You will have Saurday's off, usually, and that is it. Absolutely not flexible on Sunday/Friday travel.

    You will become addicted to the quarterly bonus. It is just enough to keep adding to your DB&A career in 3 month increments.

    You will be lied to. You will be promised the world if you work extra, but as soon as it is time to collect, someone 'else' or business conditions will prevent you from your opportunity.

    Luck based opportunity and the top of the pyramid is full.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    How many more clients do you think will really put up with paper based manually tracked measurement systems?
    Milk it as long as you can because your days are numbered.
