    I have been working at DISYS full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    If you need a place of employment and do not have to directly report in to this place, it would be an option.

    Cons

    During my time, I found this to become a very hostile work environment. While encouraged to take advantage of the "open door policy", I found that it was not really an open door. Sexual innuendos, foul language, racial slurs, negative comments regarding religion and sexual preference, and general harassment were predominant. Each complaint resulted in no changes whether the issue was brought up to the manager or to the upper management. Ultimately the open door meant you looked like a complainer. Threats of unemployment were made to those beginning work if they did not beat timeframes even during the first week of unemployment. No real encouragement was given unless followed by a slew of negativity. Although this is a recruiting firm, alcohol use during work hours seemed to be a matter of course as opposed to an exception.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    While the ideas are good, those executing those ideas could use some lessons in good management and support. If employees complain about harassment and racism, it should not be tolerated. If drinking during work hours is allowed, some measures should be taken to ensure safety. Clients should be made aware that this is part of the culture of the company.
