I have been working at David's Tea part-time

    Pros

AWESOME DISCOUNT. Half off on tea for a tea lover is amazing
Free tea on shift, unlimited hot or iced
    Some nice employees and customers
    Tea tastes really good

    Cons

TOO MUCH ON CALL, I'm seasonal so I am probably low ranking. But they keep scheduling me on call even though they know I commute an hour by train
Give feedback, then don't schedule you at all. How am I supposed to improve or work on your suggestions?
Very cliquey environment, Keyholder plays favorites and makes it known I'm not one of them
Bad scheduling. I never get the hours I ask for/am always put on call. Bad communication
    Feel undervalued
Artificial ingredients in some teas. It's really not a good thing and most customers tell me they wish we didn't put those in

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with employees a bit more. Don't decide that someone is not good enough only after a few weeks. If you give advice, let someone work on it ON THE JOB. Don't just put them on call and then never call them in... it makes me feel disrespected and expendable. I was really excited to work here but now I'm feeling disliked and undervalued. I want to be good at my job, even if it is seasonal part-time. Let me improve by giving me real, solid hour, not on call, especially after I've told the manager multiple times that on call is very inconvenient and stressful for me because I commute so far. This has by far been the biggest con. Listen to your employees! Even part time seasonal employees should be shown some respect and dignity. We matter too. I am a smart young woman with a college degree, and I know that if you work with me, I can understand what needs to be done and learn and grow.

The favoritism is hard to deal with. I feel pushed out by other co-workers

I feel like they preached a fun, relaxed environment during the hiring process but it feels too cliquey and like I am very undervalued. I know I have expressed that I have mild disabilities, and David's Tea preaches fun and "doing you", but I feel like after I told my manager I have a disability during a constructive criticism session to let them know why I might act in certain ways sometimes and so we can both be on the same page, they suddenly just put me on call for the entire week.

Stop putting all those artificial flavorings in tea. It feels like a huge lie to tell people tea is healthy, but then put all this artificial stuff into something that is naturally healthy! I myself refrain from drinking our teas with artificial ingredients because I really dislike that they are in them. I have heard from countless customers that they do not like that Davids Tea uses artificial flavorings and such in the teas. Listen to your customers. You cannot preach the health benefits of tea when there are artificial colors and flavors in some. Have consistent product quality.
