    I worked at Defender Direct full-time (less than an year)


    You will work with some good people...because most are in a similar position as you. Not speaking of managers, I mean the person to your left and right.


    Think about are not paid unless the company gets paid...meaning you sell a 3 year security system for $ make less than $50. If you sell one or two in your entire 8 hour make less than $9.00 an hour...they make $3000.00. I started there and was sold..I thought it was an outstanding company...then once you work you see the cracks...You are talked to by managers and trainers often your first two weeks...then after that they disappear...No coaching...Nothing...It is strongly suggested you don't tell the customers much info at all...let the tech's do it... they say. I've worked in a few call centers....never have I saw such a terrible example of management. You are pressured to push systems on people. Jump on their fears. You are REQUIRED to sell 1 out of 2 you speak to....meaning...wrong numbers..pranks...hang ups...people simply asking prices....all are to hide the costs til the you are a christian...and tell the will be punished...slowly...because they will squeeze the calls you go from people calling because they got a mailer or saw a commercial about 14 calls a shift (HIGH) the lowest random calls of people with little interest(COT)...but with the same 1 out of 2 call sale requirements. I've had nights there...where I swear to God...I got zero calls...then nights with 3....Really? I drive to work, do what I'm told and get maybe 3 chances in eight hours? Do I sound bitter...yes.,,but for good reason...I was put on warning as were numerous pod partners...for selling less than one out of of two...and was told by my manager...I will work with you,,,,you will see a lot of me the next two weeks...I will make you successful here....guess what...I talked to him once the next two weeks....and that was to tell me I was fired because I was one sale short of goal during those two weeks of warning.. never monitored my calls....I had less than thirty (30) calls during those ten days of warning. You will get 'duplicate' calls..meaning.the customers tell you they have called in the past...these are not supposed to count against you...but it is your responsibility to research them...If you can't find their number..then it counts against you...and it will because if they signed up through ADP won't find them.... Are there successful people there? Yes there are....Are they doing things the right way....ummm....I'm sure one or two are...I've heard the successful people... they don't necessarily lie..but they manipulate or hide the truth by not saying it...Like selling a car with no can say how fast it goes, how great the A/C works, how quiet it is, how smoothly it rides...if they ask does it talk about the style, color or the strength of the doors....avoid telling them as much as possible.This kind of company really should be illegal. They do'charity' but I think that mainly to hide from the awful practices they do. If JIm Jones ran a company...this would be his kind of company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pray there is no afterlife....For all I know...its how you were trained...They find new minions every week...there isn't much cost to bring new recruits each week...then push out 9 out of 10 that don't comply....eventually you will get what you want... Enjoy it way this will last for you.
