Good Company before going private. Now micromanagement at its finest!!!

I have been working at Dell full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible work schedule and good job for someone just out of college or going to college. Decent health insurance benefits.

    Cons

Management totally out of touch with employees. Managers who manage employees from remote locations which leads to no real knowledge of what is really going on with the teams or groups that they manage since they are not on site!! Management also is not up front with their employees and treat employees more like children instead of adults that actually can think on their own!! Managers also attack call center reps instead of taking time to listen and understand situations that happen. Training for team members is horrible as well and when training is done it is out of touch with what actually happens on the Service Desk accounts/clients that they serve. Atmosphere prior to going private was much more happy and employee moral was good. After company went private atmosphere went down hill to the point where employees now have to watch their backs and moral is way down in the dumps!!! Very dead end job as well, as some managers will not allow team members to make career moves by not releasing resumes and other employment data to other managers or teams that employees apply for internally!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention and listen to your employees and call center techs. Work on getting atmosphere back to the way it was prior to going private and stop micromanaging your employees and let them work with a little more freedom instead of cranking the screws down on them more!!!
