I worked at Dell full-time for more than a year

Good pay, but carried over from PerotSystems. I enjoyed working for Dell, then I saw how they handled me when they laid me off. They said you are a great employee, nothing you did, BUT we are cost cutting. Do they realize what happens to people's lifes at that point....I had a son in college and a grandaughter I was trying to support.

They don't care who they let go, just as long as the budget gets cut.Once they acquired PerotSystems they came in and laid off loads of good hard working employees that really knew there jobs. All of these jobs were filled with associates from India. You cannot take 20+ years of experience and load it into somebody in a day. Very sad the unemployment rate in R.I. is high, and alot of those employess were laid off from Dell.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop letting go of the SME's.....these are the people that keep the work going. They are smart dedicated employees, what is senior management thinking?? Maybe someone needs to focus on them!
