I have been working at Denver Post full-time (more than 5 years)

Award-winning journalists. Those who remain are mostly the best of what has been weeded out through cutbacks over several years. Talented people.

The company does noticeably little for employees. Keeping up morale is a constant struggle in the face of a management team which, for the most part, has always kept up a wall between itself and employees.
    Micromanaging is overwhelming.
Wages have been frozen for several years. The company has systematically cut back benefits without compensating salaries.
Very little opportunity to transition to rare new positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice if a team atmosphere was adopted between managerial and non-managerial staff. Employees usually feel in the dark about all aspects of their future. Open communication and team building would go a LONG way to raising morale and increasing production and improving quality.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
