    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In one short phrase, management lacks vision.

    A. Sometime in 2005-2006, addressing a large crowd of interns / graduate training full-hires, one of the current co-CEOs emphasizes: "Great banks need three things: (a) market access, (b) intellectual property, (c) prop trading. We have (a) and (b), but are behind industry leader (Goldman) in (c).

Same person in 2009: "Prop has no business inside a broker-dealer investment bank".

    B. Circa 2005-2006, top US-based economist, to a large crowd of newly minted employees: "There is no housing bubble in the USA. In fact, I just closed on my house",

    C. Circa 2008, top US-based government affairs economist to a large crowd of trainees: "The US Government will not allow GM to fail; therefore, I am buying GM common stock". Needless to say,

    D. Co-CEO, circa 2012: "We don't need to raise capital.". Well, we all know what happened.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
