    Pros

When this company says integrity, they mean it - it's even on the seal of the rotunda at their beautiful corporate headquarters. Work / Life balance is also key to keeping their employees happy as the company offers everyone an alternate work schedule where you can work 9 days x 9 hrs and get the 10th day off for free. The people that I work with are great, friendly, and down to earth people and the management is making some great decisions in core areas (going from mostly Gas to Oil shale plays) while divesting assets that don't make sense (sold their Canadian assets and Midstream assets earlier this year).

    Cons

There are pockets of people that you have to know to get promoted, otherwise the company goes outside for people (they just hired their CFO from outside the company). They need to execute better in the areas they acquired (aka GeoSouthern in Eagleford). They need to continue working on keeping their employees happy and over-communicate with their long term strategy. Need to also find a place for employees that are still working in groups that have been divested.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within and don't go outside unless necessary.
Keep working hard at keeping employees happy and they will give you their best.
Glad to see that you are not focused on cost reduction, it's an easy short term solution, but you lose your most valuable people.
Bottom Line: this is a great place to work and everyone in town knows it
