I worked at DiCon Fiberoptics full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

On paper, compensation may not be as high as other tech companies, but considering it's based in East Bay with lower housing costs and no need to commute (unless you want to live further away in more expensive places), their pay is probably on par.

People are expected to show up at work at 9am, which may seem like micro-management. Sure it's nice to get into work any time you want to and "work from home" when you feel like (neither are allowed). But having worked at places where those freedoms are allowed, after couple years it actually gets frustrating because 1. you see some co-workers not taking their job seriously 2. not everyone gets the same freedom. So looking back I see their approach as a good thing because everyone is treated equally as far as work schedule is concerned.

    Cons

There are a lot of 1 person departments/teams here. So you can be asked to be jack of all trades just because no one else knows how or wants to do a certain task. The consequence is you don't really get to develop and excel in one area. It could hamper career development if you plan on moving on else where.
