    Pros

DMI provided great benefits and really encouraged employees to socialize at many after work activities including happy hours, sporting events, and other events.

    Cons

There is no true leadership. Senior/executive management is constantly at odds with each other. While each of them have valid points, they often gossip, back talk, and point fingers, behavior that you would expect from high school girls. Employees thus don't trust management, feel insecure about their work performance, and don't understand the stability of the company.

Management hides much of the issues that are going with the company. There is no real transparency and leaves much of the employees gossiping about employment - especially when company layoffs have occurred and staff are let go frequently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

True leadership is needed. No one acts as if there is one person that will say that their decision is the final, decision that all senior executives must adhere to. Most companies, this would be the CEO or COO. The perception is that the CEO does not involve himself in the operations of the company so that is out. The COO is his father who is living his life through his son's company/life. Many believe that he should retire, especially since he is so much older. Despite his legendary reputation of building and selling Government IT contracting companies for multimillion dollars each, it seems that the company would fair better with someone a little more in touch with the Government procurement and capture process and of today. Executives consistently work around established policies and procedures and are not held accountable for their actions. With so definitive action, perhaps standard operating procedures can be established, followed, and updated as needed. Employees would have more respect for procedures and many of the anxieties that come from a lack of structure will be eliminated.

Management should also encourage employees to look elsewhere within the company for movement and growth. Their verbiage about this in their employee retention rate is not true. Not many people transition from their positions; the likelihood is that they leave, let go, or fired is much higher.
