Good money for born sellers, iffy for others.

    I worked at Dillard's part-time (Less than a year)

Higher than average pay ($12/hr to start for part-time). Almost all my coworkers were fun and friendly people who became good friends. Most older employees are kind and happy mentors if you're eager to learn. 20% employee discount with a Dillard's credit card, plus extra during POS's, though I chose not to apply. A good department manager will really make or break your work experience (I was fortunate enough to have an excellent one!)

Low store traffic. Very hard to make sales-per-hour goals. High turnover--people don't stick around long due to the oppressive SPH standard. If you're an assertive seller and guard your sales, you'll do well. If not, expect hard times after your third monthly review period. It all leads to undermined relationships between coworkers; you're basically competing with your team. Lots and lots of break room gossip...he stole my sale, she's greedy, etc. Left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Toward the end of my time there, I couldn't wait to leave.

    Advice to Management

Please, please reconsider the SPH goal system. I understand that it's there to motivate us to sell, but is the nastiness it creates between employees really worth it? I'm not sold.
