    Pros

DFL is community mental health center in most populated county in Florida. You are exposed to a wide variety of patients and it is a great place to gain knowledge and experience. The staff work together and support each other and are like family.

    Cons

The benefits for employees were cut several times in order to raise revenue including cutting one paid holiday & higher co-pays and less coverage with health insurance. The attrition rate is high-medical staff, therapists, support staff and upper management have resigned or quit. Many "non-essential" staff were fired after years of employment. The company switched from having yearly vacation days and sick days to "paid time off" or PTO. This changed harmed many that had hours of sick days because they have to use their PTO before they are allowed to use sick days. Therefore if they call in they have to use their vacation time unless they get approval from the CEO. Community mental health centers in the area are similar in that raises are rare due to limited funding.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees suggestions; you could avoid a lot of problems and retain a lot more staff.
