    I worked at Dunbar Armored part-time (less than an year)


    Some great co workers, supervisors, and lower management who would jump in front of bullets for you.
    Great uniforms, allow you to utilize firearms of your choice that (don't have manual safes or hammers), bullet resistant vest purchase reimbursement option is nice but they will not allow you to purchase any vest you want, trucks are in okay condition, and they pay weekly.


    It is interesting to see responses from individuals... likely in a management position defending Dunbar on the presumption that because we the employees are supposedly late, call off, and that are all lazy we don’t deserve pay raises, decent starting pay, good scheduling, effective leadership, safety, and effective training. That despite all these issues which are clearly laminated over and over on multitudes of reviews here it’s somehow the product of “the employees you don’t want working for you.”

    Well mister manager, if your company is so good at what it does, then why do you keep hiring such employees “you don’t want working for you?”

    Why can’t your company keep employees motivated, who want to make “careers” with you, and that believe in the cultivation and growth of your company?

    Why is it the majority of your staff look at your company as a temporary necessary evil?

    Why does the majority of your staff leave in less than two years? Isn’t it more beneficial for your staff to
    have experience?

    Is it because you lack professionalism in the HR department, maybe all departments, or is it because you don’t offer competitive resources to your employees, is it because you offer no support, training, or recognition to those who would normally care, or is it because your staff over time realizes that Dunbar isn't worthy of their greatest efforts? Is it because you can’t disseminate between who the good and bad employees are? Thus forcing good staff members to work with time pimps, cynical jerks, and prejudicial meanies? Is it because we don’t buy into your values and mission statements? Is it because you are out of touch with what is really taking place in the world and becoming as decrepit as the facilities which we work it? Lastly could it because you zealously use DOT laws to keep your labor costs increasing from the Over Time you staff deserves?

    As a former driver/guard I can tell you it is a combination of all, and instead of point the finger you should have taken a close look at who stands before you in the mirror and asked yourself what part you play in the demoralization and demonization of your company. Since it is your role which holds more ability to support and sustain needed changes ask yourself is your inaction justifiable?

    Even if all of these reviewers were lazy it would not change the fact that your company is ignoring serious issues for it’s of benefit, in doing so creating a hazardous, toxic, and disappointing work environment. Many of the negative reviewers praise their management, co-workers, and team (instead of chastising those they work with…like you are of us). That isn't fair considering you hold the reins not us.

    Now since you, without due consideration, have taken the liberty to judge us (including me), please allow me the same courtesy to judge you.

    Your comment sounds like the typical ignorance of a person who is full of prejudicial and radical thinking, spouting from a person who possibly grew up on the better side of privilege. Perhaps you do work as hard as you think you do and have gotten farther than others because of it; yet, to have such indifference that you would label all negative reviewers on this site as such is astounding.

    Sincerely, A past part time Driver/Guard, full time Security Officer at a higher paying security company, past full time student at Columbia College for Business Management, applicant to a multitude of law enforcement agencies, and supposedly one of the many lazy workers Dunbar doesn’t want working for them but they hired me anyways.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you have not noticed the current economic conditions in the USA are deplorable. Many American’s have to take additional work just to make a living. This is why we are still taking (JOBs) with Dunbar. Your company falls into the same category of income disparity that has created a widening gap between the High, Middle, and Low income categories as other customer services companies have. Is that something you should be proud of, being part of the same issue that is destroying this country.
    Work for Dunbar is a necessary evil and not an enlightening worthwhile experience.

    Many of your employees don’t consider genuine efforts a worthy sacrifice since you just exploit them with nothing in return.

    Kevin you need to put your big boy pants on and start accepting what is being said here about your company. Once you've done that you have to make a decision between 1. continuing ignoring us 2. actually doing something we would value.
