I worked at ESF Camps as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The counselors and staff are all great to work with. The camp has a lot of financial resources and offers a lot of diverse things for the kids. The kids are also a joy to work with week in and week out, and their parents usually tip well at the end of summer.

    Cons

The pay, which as a counselor is minimum wage. For the amount of responsibility we had, the pay was essentially slave wages. You would think that a camp this expensive would pay its employees better, but you'll make as much as a McDonalds employee flipping burgers. Also, management is incredibly overbearing and as an employee you constantly fear breaking one of their over-the-top rules and getting fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so overbearing and allow the counselors and staff the freedom they need to do their job that they know how to do. Also, pay a fair wage because minimum wage is absolutely insane for the amount of work we do to bring in the company a lot of money.
