    Pros

    In the TAS practice, you are continually exposed to new businesses, clients, and sectors. This translates into tremendous learning and growth opportunity in short periods of time. Generally, teams are smart, efficient and supportive. Senior partners are transparent and accessible. Solid opportunity for advancement and growth for strong performers. Career opportunities post-TAS are strong.

    Cons

    Personal experiences largely dependent on how projects are staffed and the partners you work for. A lack of technical training for new/experienced hires, however project nature results in ability to quickly get up to speed. Most importantly, a career in TAS lacks any semblance of balance. M&A is inherently demanding, and so are clients. Be prepared to cancel dinner plans, work unexpected late nights, or work a month straight on a difficult project.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to provide growth and advancement opportunity to strong performers. Focus on further differentiating compensation (particularly bonus structure) given the demanding nature of TAS work and lifestyle. Scrap the pension in favor of stronger 401k match.
