    I have been working at Earth Fare full-time


    Most of my team members are great people who are active in the community, passionate and well educated on health and nutrition and are glad to share their knowledge and experience. The company offers a 20% discount for team members and paid vacation and sick days after one year employment. Company also offers a descent match on 401k contributions and health care is available although pricey for partners of team members.


    Pay is well below national averages especially for department managers and much is expected. Communication between stores and home office is frustrating. Promotions are often poorly planned and warehouses are often out of stock on promotion products. During the past three years that I have worked there, my productions and profits have increased while my pay has only seen a 3% increase. Bonuses have not been given since 2011 even when departments have exceeded expected numbers. The company did nothing for its team members for the holidays. The company does very little if anything to show its appreciation for its employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Realize that the success of this company will be due mostly to its employees. Reward the stores that are consistently doing well rather than putting all of your energies into opening new store. Bring back the bonuses and incentives and give the individual stores more control over the products offered. What may be popular in Indiana may not be so in NC. and please do not underestimate the intelligence of the people who shop at Earth Fare. Most of them shop there because they want health options and affordability. Also, please do away with the lateral promotion. That is just another way of giving someone more responsibly without fair compensation.
