I have been working at Edinburg Center full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The people are wonderful and the clinicians have great intentions for their clients. You get a lot of freedom to do your job. You are able to go out and see clients on your schedule and they are a huge organization so there are places to go within the company. They also have some excellent upper management staff that are kind and understanding. Working with the mental health population can be very tiring and the Edinburg Center encourages you to have personal time and to maintain your own health. There are also many great employee benefits.

    Cons

Administration can be kooky. It is funded by the department of mental health so decisions can come from high up people that do not know the clients at all. The pay is low because many of the jobs are considered entry level. There is a lot of work to be done and it is great experience but compensation could definitely be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Always keep the best interest of the client in mind.
