    I worked at Eliada Homes

    Pros

If you want lots of experience working with different sub-populations in youth mental health care, you got it. You will work in all the residential facilities, you will work on all shifts.

    Develop great relationships with co-workers

    Cons

You are a slave. Don't try and have too much of a life outside of Eliada because it is not likely to happen. You are to work 96 hours every two week span, and be on call. The numbers of RISE interns makes it so we you all take the brunt of staff shortages or extra needs during crisis. You will figure out very quick that you (getting housing, but also only getting 6.55 an hour) literally make the company run. If RISE went on strike the place would be forced to shut down. RISE are thrown into all situations and expected to be competent, which is great for experience but not so good for mental stability.

Also, even though you work in all the facilities and see more of the campus than anyone, don't try and bring your experiences or ideas to upper management, Remember your place, intern. Who cares that you have a year of experience... if your idea might cost the company a little more money don't suggest it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want the RISE program to work, either compensate them more or get more to relieve the burden. Varied schedules, forced overtime, low compensation = far to unstable.
