Good co-workers. Benefits are top notch; good PTO.

This company is mostly owned by Blackstone, large private equity! The upper management is doing a terrific job running this company efficiently. Outsourcing of Q/A (and other depts.) to overseas partners (Cognizant) has been effective in reducing labor costs (Capex). High use of consultants is helping make us more efficient. We have limits on printers, business expenses, and cost containment as well as impressive use of zero based budgeting all which make for higher profitability. High regard for Lean and Agile, which should help speed along product development at the highest efficiency.

Very impressive use of project management to account for capex and opex in most efficient manner. Senior leadership insists on highest efficiencies, which is terrific in accelerating transition to technology enabled, rather than wasteful human processes.

Internally, employee functions are entirely through software with specific and different apps for booking travel, reimbursement, just about all HR, and training - very impressive! All of this has been great for building more value (no need for these workers) for our customers and Lean is the focus. This drives value for customers, profit for owners, and wages for workers!

Cool to see just what "private sector efficiency" is all about and how to learn how to apply Lean/Agile techniques.

It is hard to get more staff hired when needed owing to cost centralization. Still some silo zation owing to multiple acquisitions.

Some workers - stuck in the past (!) - get nervous because of all the constant layoffs and increasing outsourcing. Ultimately, these workers need to "change or be changed" as this company is showing the way efficiency truly works.

No upward advancement. Where you start, and how much, is often where you will be, and how much you will make.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engagement with the employees is perceived as mostly cosmetic. This company is going through rapid changes, whether to be sold, IPOed, or have spin offs. Employees need some hand holding as the layoffs will continue/accelerate and it would be bad to lose key employees prematurely (while we still need them!) owing to poor communication.

Keep up the ever increasing efficiency/synergy creation as it shows the way Lean and Agile works!
