Some of the most talented Engineers in Aerospace

    Former Employee - Senior Engineer
    Former Employee - Senior Engineer

I worked at Emergent Space Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

At Emergent, employees get the opportunity to work on extremely interesting and cutting edge projects.
The majority of your coworkers are some of the most talented, dedicated, and knowledgable Scientists and Engineers in the Aerospace Industry

    Cons

NOTE: These issues are not insurmountable. What's needed is for the Emergent Space Leadership to acknowledge that the issues exist and to take the steps necessary to truly address them.

There are major issues with leadership at Emergent. There is a stated open door policy, but an atmosphere that discourages it when it regards the upper echelon. Technical issues are often disregarded based on Ego.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You've collected a staggering amount of technical knowledge and experience in your staff. Look past friendships and personal relationships and leverage that talent.
If you advertise an "open door" policy, and no one opens the door, it is the leadership's job to fix that. Treating vocal employees with disrespect and unprofessional behavior breeds SILENCE.
Honest dealing and transparency with your staff pays dividends.
It is "OK" to not have all the answers and to trust in the technical recommendations from staff members with specific knowledge and experience...it should be one of the reasons you hired them in the first place.
