I worked at Energy Curtailment Specialists full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

flexible work schedule, company outings are enjoyable/family friendly, always allowed us to leave a couple hours early before holidays, fair HR dept., decent pay, some really great co-workers, solid benefits.

    Cons

All about making $, period...and they make the majority of their profits during the summer months so vacation time needs to be staggered between departments. Event days are chaotic (and can run 3-5 days straight, customers get livid) Communication between departments is laughable, 30 minute break is very restrictive and heavily watched, had to walk on egg shells constantly with any constructive criticism of company, managers will listen to you but won't change a thing to save their butts and not rock the boat. Favoritism is a factor (i.e. if a manager has a crush on somebody working with/below you, they'll be promoted first)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve communication between departments desperately...sales staff is told one thing, research is told another, also develop a better system of communication to customers. Often left in the dark too often about the intricacies of the DR program, especially during events.
