I worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great training, awesome coworkers for the most part. Lots of activities outside of work. Lots of help if you are struggling with sales.

    Cons

Work life balance is horrible - I would come home absolutely exhausted every night and would have to head to bed after 2 hours of being home, which barely gives me time to eat, shower, say hi to my parents and go to bed. On mondays we'd have to arrive an hour earlier, at 6 AM to clean cars essentially, and work til 6 PM.

-In order to make the real money, you have to dedicate at least 6 years at the company. Real money is made outside of the branch, as an area manager and above, but those positions are only available when there is an opening, which is almost never, so most people end up working in the branch for a longer time. I knew branch managers who worked in the branch for 12 years because of no opening, mind you they are still only making about 40-60k. But management tells you you can be promoted to area manager within 3-4 years, and this is highly unlikely. Promotions are scarce after assistant manager

-With that said, the pay as a management trainee is pretty low. Checks per 2 weeks were less than 1100, and you are working 11 hour days with an hour of unpaid lunch.

-Customer service is a priority over everything, which can be annoying because the customers can be truly annoying, which can make this seem like a retail job meant for high schoolers

    Neutral Outlook
