I have been working at Environmental Resources Management full-time (more than 5 years)

There are still a few good people left, but most have left for better positions.

So many to list, but here are a few: Partners and their henchmen are ruthless and are generally out to make themselves look good while sacrificing those not in their 'loop' of deception. Some project managers are desperately attempting to enter the partner tract and in the process will attempt to destroy those in their path. Management can be very incestuous in terms of those 'chosen' to be professionally developed 'under the wing' per say. Technical managers can be rude and uncouth, with some even reveling in the demise of lesser experienced employees. Basically, ERM Houston is the most boring and sad work environment most have ever experienced, with an open concept and salesman peppered throughout the work areas talking to clients for long periods of time while you are attempting to meet billability, which could involve the necessity for peace and quiet to perform one's work duties. A partner mentioned that it was encouraged to work 'remotely' aka at home, but this is simply not true and while reaching out to other departments to obtain work is said to be encouraged, this is also a lie as it will bite you in the back if you don't satisfy your direct management's needs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop badgering consultants about billability and help them achieve it instead. Stop lying about job responsibilities when it is obvious that you only want someone to become your slave so that you can pad your billable hours and increase your annual bonus. There is no development at ERM Houston and it is a place where elephants go to die.
