I have been working at Epic Systems Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

The work is meaningful, I am never confused about who my work is impacting I know I am creating a better healthcare world and helping make end users and patients' lives easier. Also, most of the time you aren't reinventing the wheel and starting from scratch so you have a lot of resources and experts helping you. You will soon become an expert as well and be that resource for someone. People work really hard at Epic, so if you're looking for a job where you don't have to work hard while you're there, you will find yourself in the wrong place at Epic. The culture is ideal, I get to wear what I want everyday. Dress code = wear clothes. The food in the cafeterias is so good and so cheap! Beautiful campus surrounded by farmland with lots of gardens and ponds. Individual offices or offices you share with one person NOT CUBICLES! Can I get an AMEN!? Also, all offices are themed and beautifully designed. The people are wonderful and very motivated. The environment is a very "we" centered environment where you as an employee are responsible for every part of the success of the company just as much as everyone else is. No one is throwing each other under the bus or handing issues off just so they can have an easier time. (This is my experience at least.) The customers you work with will surprise you and you will become part of their team. They will rely on you and you on them, such an awesome connection. For TS, the travel is a huge perk. Other jobs here require a lot more travel but TS usually travel about every other month depending on how many customers you have. Trips are totally paid for and set up by a travel department, super easy, they also let you collect points on flights, hotels, and rental cars which you aren't even paying for. I have gotten to see places I never would have gone on my own and met people I never would have met on my own (SO COOL!). If you love problem solving, THIS JOB IS FOR YOU! Every issue is like a real-life puzzle where your solution can actually make a difference.

The training is very long, around 4-6 months of active training. So it takes a while to be fully immersed in customer work. However, there is a lot to learn. So at least they don't leave you out to dry. They give you SO MANY resources to figure out the problems you need to figure out. If you would need to take the Beltway to and from work you would experience a lot of traffic, but I do not living in a west Madison neighborhood.

    Advice to Management

Keep being more awesome then Cerner!
