    Pros

    Once in the door, the opportunities to explore other positions - around the world - are open to you. However, like any company that is driven largely by its book of business, you need to be prepared to move quickly when a project scales down or closes or you could be out of work.

    Cons

    Siloed management philosophy. Inward focus on department goals can come at the expense of overall system efficeincy and effectiveness.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Need to measure success from a systems perspective. Siloes cause sub-optimization across organizations. For example, IT is a profit-loss center. While investment in IT resources may be of great benefit to another organization, IT sees the incremental investment in infrastructure as an expense. Need a better way to recognize that an expense in one department can contribute to an outsized benefit/profit in another part of the organization.
