  1.

A lot of maintenance on spaghetti code with poor salary.

Former Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Athlone (Ireland)

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Flexi time.
    Overtime pay.
    Dan's tavern across the road.
    Good experience for grads.

    Cons

    Using outdated technology.
Left behind with regards new technology, hard to gain new experience and advance your career.
    Salary not competitive.
    Management not technically competent sometimes.
Constant firefighting and patching of scrappy code instead of rewriting.
I don't know if its because of the canteen food or what, but the toilets always seem to be blocked in the building.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Making us do some pointless process because "that's how it was always done", rather than trying to improve/change the process is not good. Especially when you agree said process is a waste of time and is frustrating.
