I have been working at Escalate as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

You will work on behalf of a major company for at least 4 of their product lines. This can be a good internship if you are not a leader and do require any mentorship, interaction or personal development in your experiences. If you are just doing it to put a marketing internship on your resume then this is the internship for you. If you actually require pay, a rewarding experience and an opportunity to work with a great marketing company then this is most likely not for you. But everyone is different so one man's bad internship can be another man's favorite.

    Cons

Unpaid, coffee grabbing, copy making, mail delivering type internship. Busy work, with no room for growth or opportunity. You will have no opportunities for growth and you will not have any opportunity to contribute ideas. Real meetings will be held without you and you will have no chance to actually get involved in the fundamental aspects of event marketing. Management does not work with or interact with interns on any level.

The raving reviews you see are from the employees who have most likely been put up to the task because they are a marketing agency and understand the importance of good reviews. Do not be fooled. Pay attention to what the real interns have said, the good and the bad. Personally this was the worst internship I've ever had but I do believe that if you are passionate about event marketing then this may be a good opportunity. If you breeze past the busy work and go out of your way you can turn this into something more.
