I worked at Ewing full-time (more than 3 years)

They throw lots of money at you if they are trying to recruit you, and seem very welcoming.

When they get what they want from you, not so much. You'd better be a yes man and not make any waves or challenge the status quo no matter how stupid, counterproductive, or antiquated it may seem. Only management positions pay anything. Counter salespeople make very little for what is expected. Branch managers are responsible for EVERYTHING and must attend a ridiculous amount of meetings and participate in an equally ridiculous amount of promotions, merchandising "contests", etc. Not to mention the team building events. (laughable). Their biggest team building activity is to supply alcohol to everyone at the conventions. Whoopie. You can only move up if you are willing to relocate or travel extensively. Or are a big butt kisser. Take your pick.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not that they would consider any advice, but that is exactly what they need to do. Listen to other people who just may know something. Just because your last name is York, doesn't mean you don't have things to learn. There is no work-life balance. Ewing wants to be involved in every single aspect of a person's life. Some of us want a job and a home life, and like to keep them separate.
