I worked at F5 Networks (More than 3 years)
Company has good technology. People and culture overall, are very personable and good. There are some very smart folks working at the company. F5 is a market leader for a reason, though that remains to be seen as the company transitions with new management. The current expansion phase into other markets such as security and other non-ADC technologies is distracting from the core F5 capabilities and strengths.
F5 is going through a growth transition. There are internal struggles to understand what technologies to focus on, and what vertical markets to target. Power struggles exist between the product development, product management, and marketing organizations on strategy and execution. Overall strategy is not clear moving forward.
Advice to Management
Dictate direction, assign responsibilities, and let the teams focus on producing and collaborating instead of fighting with each other. Ensure openness instead of a closed protective mentality.
