I worked at FISOC full-time (less than an year)

Fast culture, carries a lot of the competitive allure of startups (only startup I worked for that had the energy of a startup), cool and young staff worth socializing with outside work. They handed out free $500 tickets for a grand prix event. My direct manager was cool.

Internally, they were struggling with a "frat house culture". Most of their direction gets decided on during smoke breaks. The management said some negative things about the town the company is based out of. The pay was pitifully under-market (I took the job in a hurry). They laid me off right before the holidays without severance after I worked a 60 hour week. I considered suing them, and when I voiced my frustrations, they threatened me right back with their legal team. They recruit a lot of kids without college degrees. The managers are very transparent about picking favorites. My hiring manager tried to convince me on the interview there were justifications for "the sith" and he seemed just fine to live out that motif.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Best of luck, you created a lot of personal offense by laying me off during the holidays without severance. It was a very a poor move. I'm sorry it didn't work out. There was a lot of maturing I did after that, so I'm guessing and hopeful you gained some wisdom after those events. I hope you never treat another employee (trial-run or not) like that again.
