    I have been working at Factory Motor Parts full-time for more than 5 years


    401k, profit sharing (that is if you don't get fired before your fully vested, a 6 year anniversary with this company is like waiting for the results of a lab test; your not sure if you'll survive another year), paychecks on time (that this is the most, and sometimes only, pro mentioned speaks volumes about this company)


    Its been so well documented here in all of the posts; management through fear and negativity, micro-management to a degree you could never imagine, sub-par wages with no raises for the folks on the ground making all of your impossible commitments a reality (except it seems for the sales department and of course executive management), no work/life balance (if you even think about working a 40 hour week you will be labeled a "clock watcher" and be dead man/woman walking), mental conditioning to make you believe that you are incompetent/expendable/failure/the list goes on and on, and the belief that all problems can be solved by selling more and using less people (makes it abundantly clear what the executives are bonus-ed on). Another strange facet of this company is assigning blame. It is demonstrated continually, that this is the highest priority. When you make a mistake, you will hear about it several times and from several people. Assigning blame takes precedence over fixing the problem, even if that problem is affecting a customer(s). The previous mention of expecting 60 hours of work out of a 40 hour period is spot on. So is the additional mention of this being pushed on the salaried employees who do not get paid overtime. That poster mentioned the phrase "work mules", I think exploitation is more apt. Breaks and lunches are assigned and documented, though im sure that is a c.y.a. maneuver, it is definitely not out of the goodness of their heart's. People move about like robots; fast, orderly, doing way more than humanly possible and emotionless. Theres no time for emotion! Theres no profit in emotion! Hence while this place is the concentration camp of the automotive industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    This company has always been aggressively driven in pursuit of money and profit. I have worked for much larger corporations and have never seen the level of greed I have here. Management does not hesitate to throw someone under the bus if they are in the way of an extra 0.017% gp, running over their still warm corpse, crushing it like they have with all of their employee's spirits. And that was the past, now its worse. Now you would most likely be charged a running over fee if you were the one run over, plus what ever fee any of our vp's can think of charging. If you are a vp, NO ONE believes ANYTHING you say. You preach lost revenue and increased costs out of one side of your mouth, and send the same clique on the company trips each year while driving your high end company cars. You are a group of people that are only out for yourselves. You think of countless ways to pay others less while you earn very high salaries. Congress is more ethical than you. The turn over rate in the last 2 years should have been a real signal. Its staggering. And this place is so miserable those who are gone, either by their own choice or not are happier. Elliott has always been obsessed with material wealth, but he has a heart and has shared it with others who have worked for him. Not this new crowd. Wake up Elliott! These men and women you have running your company are not loyal to you, just to their paychecks. They have managed to enact all of these changes with you in the day to day grind. And once you leave, or they find a way to force you out (I hope your son's don't turn their backs on any of these people) they will make the final blow that will kill your late fathers legacy. Take heed, because its been dying a slow death from them already over the last few years.
