    Pros

To get a foot in the door in P&C, it's probably the easiest company to get in the door with--because they don't give you anything aside from a space in an office. If you are looking to learn P&C, then the "Cons" below may not apply to you, but if you are looking for a "j-o-b" then this is one of the worse ones to consider.

    Cons

Most--if not all--companies have a business strategy. They have a hiring and retention strategy. They have a marketing strategy... Unless the strategy changes, the way a company does business will always be the same. Farmers has a very aggressive attrition strategy for agents. Their strategy is to recruit as many agents as they can, do business with their circle of friends and families then you (as the agent) will move on to something else. This is the, "Hey, I'll give you a job" strategy that, in reality, is the "Let me use you and your circle of friends and tell you all kinds of BS to get you in" strategy. Their strategy is built on switch and bait and unethical manipulation of unsuspecting people looking for a job.
