I worked at Fci Usa full-time (More than 5 years)
Great high speed and back panel products. Superior technical staff. Tremendous tenure among technical staff, especially process engineering. Wealth of experience and know-how. They have done everything from one-off prototypes, to low volume production with emphasis on manual operations, to completely automated high-speed production. They know what works and what does not. They know what tolerances are realistic and what tolerances are pipe-dreams.
Management focused on meeting holding company objectives only; willing to "sell-out" employee and company futures to meet personal objectives. Senior management not interested in the value USA brings in terms of knowledge, experience, and product/ process innovation-- they are focused on knowledge transfer of "Best Practices" to China. No future for FCI USA. Listen to your engineers! Stop trying to deny physics,
Advice to Management
Sell quickly and put your over-worked, under-appreciated technical staff out of their misery. Stop lying and deluding yourself about the future of FCI USA. Just try launching one, new, highly technical product with your staff in China. Then you will understand why you need the product and process engineering staff you have in the USA. Get rid of vainglorious, dictatorial management who believe that what is best for them is what is best for the company and the future.
