I have been working at FedEx Ground part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is the perfect part-time job for a college student -- the shifts are 2 - 4 hours long. The pay is higher than many other unskilled jobs -- but the work required is physically strenuous. If a package handler stays with the company for 60 days then they are eligible for college tuition reimbursement of up to $1500.00 per year. After approximately one year, a part-time package handler is eligible for medical benefits. The progressive wage schedule isn't bad either. After 90 days a part-time package handler is eligible for PTO -- 1 hour for every 20 hours worked. Personally, I prefer this job over working in retail or fast food. It helps to be in relatively good shape before starting this job -- but it's not a prerequisite.

    Cons

The work is physically demanding -- I like to think that I am being paid to exercise. At the Lebanon facility management is reluctant to setup direct deposit -- I've finally given up after several attempts. Moreover, there is a risk of personal injury while performing this job. When you start, your body will be sore -- but it gets easier after the first week or two.
