I have been working at Federal Government full-time (More than 8 years)

As one would expect, working for the government provides stability and range of opportunities that would be difficult to find in the private sector.

The downsides of working for the government are also what one would expect -- outdated technology, apathy at multiple levels, poor management, and an acceptance of mediocrity.

    Advice to Management

Create more accountability among employees and award initiative rather than focusing on pleasing those above you. This will greatly improve the morale among the workforce.
